Magnus Haake and Jens Nirme attended the 14th International Conference on Intelligent Virtual Agent (IVA 2014), August 27-29 in Boston, MA. This time, conversational agents in health applications was a focus of the conference -- but other topics included gestures, language, animation and social- and affective behavior.
Together with Camilla Kirkegaard and Annika Silvervarg from Linköping University we presented both a paper and a poster about a teachable agent based application for teaching history to 11 year old children.
The presentations were well received and we much enjoyed other interesting talks and as much of Boston as we had time for.
